After your busy DDW day is done, just take time to slow down and get inspired…let the food come in for once. RE_connect at our table.
If it isn’t convenient, why bother? Many areas in our life are hijacked by convenience, from holidays and shopping to food.
What happened to true play? The play that demands you taking tiny risks, letting go of yourself and experiencing a tingling sensation that you’ll be rewarded along the road. In food, we’ve lost it completely. Cooking is either functional, or convenient. Did you ever forage food from a forest? Or eat fruits directly from a tree? In those moments, we play and connect with nature. Instead, we sit in the car and gulp down our breakfast shake.
Food needs attention, commitment, investment. Squeeze to see if that plum is perfectly ripe, marinate vegetables in salt to bring out its deeper taste, have leftovers sit for a day to see if they conserve and pride yourself for cooking from scratch when taking a first bite.
Don’t forget that a troubled or tired mind is swiftly cleared by the act of cooking, a sick person feels better after a healthy broth and a friend needs company while dining. Sharing food fuels our heart and soul.
During these dinners, we will invite you to reconnect with food, together with a paired range of drinks and a good story. Be playful, wake up your senses, share with others and challenge your comfort zone. Let the food really come in, for once.
