In Europe a majority of people see seaweed as something unpleasant, rotten and dirty once out of the water.

Plentiful in the wild, eco-friendly and highly nutritious, seaweed has been used by man since our earliest history. It is time to open our eyes again to the potential, purity and beauty of this rich natural resource.

Ruth is a European Designer. She grew up in Germany and recently graduated from the Man and Food Department at the Design Academy Eindhoven. During her internship with the Cornish Seaweed Company in the UK, she learned professionally about sustainable seaweed harvesting methods which became a central subject
in her work.

Ruth will introduce you to the world of wild edible seaweed. What you will learn and experience:

– an introduction to wild, edible European seaweed species;
– learn how to identify and harvest sustainably;
– experience seaweed food culture and its history across Europe;
– share and prepare an organic seaweed feast together;
– two course meal.
