Welcoming the Year of the Fire Horse — A Bun Created with Intention

Every new year brings a shift in energy. In the Chinese calendar, the Year of the Horse is a time associated with movement, courage, and renewal — a year that invites us to step forward with confidence, embrace change, and trust our inner rhythm.

To welcome this new cycle, we created something small but meaningful: our Year of the Horse bun.

A Bun with Meaning

This special bun is inspired by the symbolism of the Fire Horse — a sign of vitality, forward motion, and transformation. The soft bao shape is finished with a subtle red swirl, inspired by the flowing mane of a galloping horse and the element of fire. In Chinese culture, red represents warmth, life force, and new beginnings.

Every detail was designed to reflect the idea of movement with intention — not rushing forward, but stepping into the new year with clarity and presence.

The Filling: Osmanthus & Oolong Custard

Inside, you’ll find a delicate osmanthus and oolong custard. Osmanthus is known for its gentle floral aroma and is often associated with harmony and sweetness. Oolong tea adds depth and balance, creating a filling that is soft, comforting, and quietly complex.

This combination reflects what we love about tea rituals: the balance between strength and softness, depth and lightness.

A Small Ritual for a New Beginning

Each Year of the Horse bun comes with a custom-designed card, created by our team. The card shares the symbolism of the Fire Horse and includes a short poetic reflection — an invitation to pause, set an intention, or simply take a mindful moment before the first bite.

At Tea Stories, we believe food and drink can be small rituals in everyday life. Moments to slow down, reconnect, and mark transitions — even in simple ways.

A New Chapter for Tea Stories

This Year of the Horse feels special for us as well. It marks a moment of growth and transformation for Tea Stories, as we continue shaping our identity as a modern tea atelier rooted in Asian wellness and everyday rituals. Creating this bun felt like a gentle way to honor that transition — through something warm, shared, and meaningful.
